General Conference Wow...is all I can say. We haven't been able to go to GC for several years now due to the location, so since it was only a three hour drive this year for us we jumped at the chance to go. It was so awesome and I'm really glad we went. We weren't able to go for the whole thing, but we were there for Saturday night and Sunday morning. We did watch Wed, Thrus, & Sunday night services on the internet. Saturday night they raised over $7million dollars for Missions. Then on Sunday night they had over 1,100 people get the Holy Ghost and they had baptized about 61 and were still baptizing and getting the Holy Ghost when the internet viewing part was shut down at 10:30pm!!! It was so exciting to see. There were several notiable healings that took place too. If you haven't watched it I definitely recommend that you do so HERE. The Sunday night service will not be available to view until sometime tomorrow but you can also see some of the other services. It was really awesome! Now it's back to reality and work. Things are still going pretty well here. They are talking of putting me in the International dept. There's a lot more work to it but I'm ready for a challenge. I'm hoping it will also call for a raise. Talk to you later! Wednesday, September 20, 2006
Trip to Hawaii It's been a busy summer for me this year. Usually we don't do anything but sit around the house, but not this summer something has constantly been going on. I'm ready for a break and back to doing nothing again. I did make it to Hawaii and back. I left on September 1st and returned on September 9th. We had a LOT of fun this time. Not that I don't usually but this time we did a lot of different things. When I first got there one the 1st, we went on a sailboat ride. It was really a rough ride, since the waves were coming in really big. Then my sister and I went parasailing up 600ft. It sounds really scary but it's not as bad as it looks. The guy that took us up end up ducking us completely under water on our way out and on our way back in. I think that's what made it. We wish now that we would have did the cloud kicker height instead of just 600ft, but we had never done it before and was a little scared. Then we flew to Kaua'i on Wednesday of that week. That island is pretty much all country but it's beautiful. We went and seen what they call the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It was georgeous! Then we took a raft boat ride that took us around to a side of this island that is only visible through air or boat. It took 2 1/2 hours to get there and then 2 1/2 hours back and this was some rough riding. I never felt like I had been bounced around so much as I did that trip. It was a blast though and talk about some pretty sites. BEAUTIFUL!!!! We stayed in a really nice motel that was right on the beach, so at night we went down and sat on the beach and just listened to the ocean. Talk about relaxing, it was wonderful. I also was able to spend some time with my sister's finance as well. He is really nice and big Sis approves, so all is well on this end. I'm back home now and have finally recovered from jetlag. Hawaii is six hours behind us, so it was a little rough getting up and going back to work the following day. It was all worth it though!! Well, I'm going to get off here and will try to send some pictures of Hawaii once I get them all downloaded to the computer. Talk to you all later. Friday, July 21, 2006
Ummm..... Ok....I'm aggravated. I had this all typed up and for some reason I lost everything. I don't know what I did. Oh well, I'll try to retype it....urggg! Life is getting better for us here. We still miss our two puppies but it's a lot easier now, we can atleast talk and think about them without busting out in tears everytime. I know they are better off and that's all that matters. My sister is engaged now to be married and had plans to marry on Nov. 4th. Unfortunately that isn't going to work out now as of yesterday, she found out her fiance isn't getting out of the military in Sept like they thought. The paperwork hadn't been completed yet and once it is completed he will have to stay for another 60 days for it to be processed. They are looking at another 6 months to a year before he'll be out now. They have decided to wait until he gets out before they get married, since they will be moving from Hawaii to Louisiana, where he's from, to live. He will need to get them a place to live and get his old job back and squared away, so they are being smart about it. I know they were a little disappointed but they also know that it will all work out in the best of time. Oh...I bought my doggie a stroller last week. Here is a picture of it.... Isn't it cute. She's in it, if you can see her? She absolutely loves this thing and I can't hardly even walk past it without her running and trying to get in. Even when it's folded she tries to hop in for me to take her for a walk. She is really missing the other two dogs, and I believe is going through some kind anxiety problems. I'm hoping she'll get better soon. She is still eating and drinking, so she's ok but it's sad to see her sit and whine for no reason. Well, I'm going to get off here and get back to work. Thought I would give you all a little update while I had a minute.
